ATTN: Pioneer A05 owners.
I just the A05 DVDwriter. Everytime I reboot my pc, I see on my first dos alike screen where it shows all the hardware it's in my computer. For my Pioneer A05. It shows 105 on my boot up screen. Is that normal? What's the difference between A05 and 105, besides one is retail and 105 is OEM. Please help me. I'm very curious about the 105 display on my boot up. Thanks!

Balto says that "Like it's predecessors, the DVR-A05 is the retail bundle, which includes a few software titles. The DVR-105 is the OEM version sold to computer manufacturuers like Compaq, Sony, Apple, etc and is nothing but the bare drive. Otherwise, the two are identical and if you already have burning software like PrimoDVD or RecordNow, then you may actually save a few bucks going the OEM route."
I guess that is normal because both of them are the same, maybe they prefer using the #1 instead of the letter "A".
oh, I see thesearch link!

it's funny that here in aus, the 105 is only about $60 less than the a05, and the a05 apparently comes with $1000 worth of software.
Just thought i'd throw that in for the flavour and to add some colour.
