anyone have problems with dvd-r?

When I burn an image with dvd-r with nero, the burn fails 50% of the time. When I use alcohol, dvd decrypt, and recordnow max. The the burn fail 99.9% of the time, but when I burn with dvd+r, the burn goes smoothly..

I tried 3 different types of dvd-r, (ritek g-04, ritek g-02, and pincho).

I have a lite on 411s; I'm using it as external using a usb2 enclosure....

Anyone have any idea, why dvd+R works and dvd-r doesn't and the firmware is up to date..

Arrrrrrr, perhaps yer burner only accepts +r ? I've seen quite a few burners out there that only do that type a format there.
