Anyone have problems backing up Tenchu?
Anyone have problems backing up Tenchu? –
As the topic states, anyone else have problems backing up Tenchu? I used Prassi and built a global image. First burn failed due to a buffer underrun (IIRC), second burn completed successfully.
When I tried loading the game up, it reaches the "Reading PS2 memory card, do not turn off PS2 or reset..." message. After that goes away, the screen turns black.
Prassi (burnt at 1x speed)
Princo blank DVD-R
Version 5 PS2 with no solder mod
Any help would be appreciated. If I solve it, I'll be back to post.
well its probably your dvd-r try a better quality, but I have the same problem with timesplitters 2....i have a khypermedia but burn alot of games and they work...dont know why ts2 wont work
Ok, I figured out what was wrong. The burn was good and the media is ok. It turns out I made a newbie error and used DVDs with smaller TOC sizes than Tenchu (the latest OPM demo DVD and SOCOM: US Navy SEALS; in case you're wondering). LOL
I would have used my Devil May Cry demo disc, but I have no idea where it is...biggest TOC size around...then again, I guess Xenosaga and MGS2 Substance would make better swap discs now.
BTW, regarding Time Splitters 2. I also had problems with that game. Couldn't get a working copy no matter what media I used (TDK, KHypermedia, CompUSA, Verbatim, etc.). I also had problems with some other games like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4, Kelly Slaters Pro Surfer, etc.
I just got done making a copy of Tenchu on Verbatim. Played the copy for 30 minutes last night and it played fine.Booted up quick. etc.. I use Record Now max. I haven't tried Timesplitters 2 yet.
oh yea i got a messiah 2....i use recordnow and make an image and burn it but it doens't work...wasted like 5 dvd-rs on it....if anybody got it to work please let me know what you did
BTW, are these games (TS2, THPS4, KSPS, etc.) pushing the size limit of DVD-5s? IIRC, these games were near the 4.3 gig barrier or whatever the limit of DVD-5s are... I'm guessing they go beyond the barrier or they have some type of copy protection.
Then again, I don't know all of the technicalities with these types of things. LOL
No copy protection. I use Nero and Ritek DVD-R's and those games work fine. Using pioneer a05 1.21 with V7 and Messiah 2 pro. 54 games burned (half are on princo's and work fine)
