Did you read my last post? Whatever you were doing appears to be at 2X already. If you are at 1X it will take 35 minutes to an hour to burn almost any DVD over 2.5 GB. If you are getting 3GB burned in 25 minutes, then you are at 2X.
I think you may have an A05/105 (I haven't heard about a 2X Cendyne mentioned as being a Pioneer--only the 4X Cendyne). If this is true, the MAX setting will burn as fast as the media is physically capable of burning (up to 4X) based on what the drive determines that speed is. It should not allow you to burn at higher speed then the media is capable.
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.
