1. Yes it is worth having, but who knows how your v3 laser will hold up. Stick to -r and you will have better luck.
2. You could burn from 1x-4x. Depends on how patient you are and how much you want to spend on media. 4x media has really come down in price so you might want to look into that.
aight thats cool
but one more thing I have a DVD-rom on my computer and im going to get the A106 (getting it for my Bday notice the 220 in my name hehe)
1. so is there any point in upgrading the firmware? to the hacked one? or anyone?
thanks Rono
Depends. You should use your dvd-rom for ripping so the 12x rip hack isn't necessary, but if you decide to go with Ritek G03, which is 2x, the hacked firmware is necessary to burn at 2x. With the supplied firmware you are limited to 1x with the G03.
well i was planning on buying the Ritek G04 which burn at 4x.....and i dont thing that i am planning to burn at a lower rate.
so the hack is unnecessary?
Rono
In your case, yes.
Will you have a older ps2 so if you do burn at 4x your ps2 laser might have some skip problems with the game because your laser is old. You should stick with 1x instead and play it safe but you never know eh.
