Another need help deciding :)

Hey I was wondering which DVD burner to buy. Right now I have two that have caught my interest. The Sony Dru530a and the Plextor 708a. Anyone know which one is better to get? Or should I wait a bit for the new ones?

I have to say I have a Sony DRU-500 and its the best.
I am not too sure about the Plextor, is it a multi format burner?

Man I love this Sony though

I have a pioneer a05 and had no problems. I would look at the software u are going to use and see what driver is compatable. My choice if I upgrade would be pioneer a06 and that would upgrade me to the dvd+-rw but I am completely satisfied with dvd-r right now. Look at compatibity issue with software and dvd manufacture and then decide.

I think he is looking for an 8x burner cause both he mentioned are 8x. I say Plextor cause they are among the best cd burner makers. I would recommend a Pioneer if they had an 8x burner.
