    well...

    as u know (my previous thread) i washaving probs with my ps2 reading dvd-r.... i only had 1 game on dvd-r whioh is a pioneer dvd-r where i burnt jak 2..... and when i tested it.... it made very bad noises and the game kinda freezed in some parts.....

    well now... i bought ritek G04 dvd-rs... and i just bunt enter the matrix.... and i had exactly the SAME prob.... the sound stats to repeat.... then laser stats mking louder noises...stuggling to read kinda noises.... until i turned it off....

    and iwas wonering what to do now.... shall i try the dvd pot thingie..... is there any other possible solutions i cod try before that????

    i already gave it a GOOD clean up... ad still

    btw.... my ps2 info ----> Version 7.... + messiah 2 pro + 2 months of use + ritek G04 dvd -r media + pioneer A05 dvd burner...... all my cd-rs have NO probs at all

    so its really wird why itshaving probs to read dvds..

    please help me guyz.... im desparate

    Not sure about this, you should probably try those discs in another PS2 to confirm if this indeed would be the problem. If they boot in a different machine, it's your PS2--if they don't then it's your burner/media not getting along. The A05's have had some wierd things going on with SOME Ritek media. There is in fact a specific firmware for the G03 Ritek's. You might want to check your firmware version. If it's less then 1.30, you should probably look into an update. D/L the media test utilities posted in the sticky up top and make sure your drive is recognizing your media and the correct burn speeds. You may even find you have a different media than you thought you bought sometimes, depending on where you ordered it from. You can get some of the official firmwares as well as some cracked ones (region free, 2X for all media, etc.) for skirting around the media issues here:
