so i finally found my ps2 game crate the other day and started backing up some of my rarer games (namely graffiti kingdom) but i didn't have any dvd-r's to burn the patched disc so i went to my local tech store and all they had were sony accucore dvd-r packs, i bought some and burnt the image and i keep getting invalid media, does anyone know if these discs will work with a ps2? or if its graffiti kingdom that doesn't like esr?

I guess you use ESR GUI. Just hit X and try to run the game it should work.

For other suggestions more info from you is needed, like burnspeed etc.

first off thanks for the responses and sorry i wasn't completely clear
yeah i patched it with gui v0.24a and the patch worked as far as i know, it's just these discs i'm not so sure about, they are sony discs so i figured they'd be best for backing up but i'm guessing not

I have esr beta 9b installed and my ps2 is an SCPH 30001 i know that esr works because i've used dynex discs in the past but i ran out and they didn't have any, i can get it to work by swapping a working esr disc before booting but that doesn't seem very healthy for my ps2 (i can hear the console trying to spin the disc but it doesn't have one cause the drives open). I tried your suggestion north bear and it didn't work just blackscreened

I burnt it on nero with an lg dvd burner one disc at 4x and one at 8x neither worked

I only use the sony accu core for everything, never had problems with them. Maybe its the fault of nero since it's not the best programm to burn an ps2 game. Which format was your backup before applying the patch ?

I have some Sony 8x DVD-R Accucore DVD's. I've had zero failures out of them. I suggest you rip new images from your originals with IMGBurn at the max speed. then set IMGBurn to the setting AWS and it will work.
