*sigh*
I think by default, "default" as username is the Admin right? I'm kinda new to XP. Also after upgrading my dvr-a05 isn't getting recognized by XP anymore. It's more of a pain with compatibility since I have the burner in an enclosure and connected it with firewire. btw I installed PrimoDVD 2.0, but it didn't recognize my dvd burner. I think it may just be my compatibility issues, can someone verify if Primo should support dvr-a05? thx.

With a PxEngine update Primo should work with your A05 just fine. You can still get one from the Veritas website I think:
http://www.veritas.com/us/products/recordnow/drivers/
(RNM, what Primo has ultimately become, got sold AGAIN to the Stomp guys, but I don't have a support link for them yet. I think the latest engine is build 390)
You should also check your ASPI Layer (Check the sticky up top about ASPI Layer Links) to make sure you don't have the 4.7 layer installed. Those 4.70 and 4.71's have been known to cause all kinds fo wierd stuff.
As for the XP log-on, not sure (not using it yet, still using 98SE). I continually see support forums and read-me's telling users to log on as the Admin.--not sure if it is a specific log-on, or if you simly have to give yourself Admin. privileges. Gotta beef-up on my NT/XP skills one of these days.....
Good Luck!

Here's a wierd one--did a quick search for the PxEngine and got a hit for the old Sonic webpage. It has a 408 build from June, 2003! Man this proggie keeps jumping around! Heres a link to it:

boot up in safe mode using F8 at startup, it will list usernames like administrators, that arent seen normally.
Then hopefully its an OEM pc or something and there is no password, or just an easy one. My dad had locked me out of his PC, cuz I wuz using up his high dollar printer for my ps2 games/
And I got around it by this ;)
needless to say he has an Administrator password now -heh
