321 Studios, the developers of the software package DVDxCopy have released a press release stating that customers are now able to bundle a Lite-On dual format DVD recorder (retail price about $ 150) with DVDxCopy and any other 321 Studio software title for an additional $ 20. From this bundle the company will also donate $ 25 to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), which is a non profit organistation to protect digital rights.

"This is great chance to give the movie enthusiast in your family a complete set of 321 software this holiday season, along with the DVD burner you need to get the most out of that gift,? said Robert Moore, 321 Studios? Founder and President. ?The Lite-On burner is at an unheard-of price, and 321?s software allows your DVD enthusiast to protect his or her DVD collection, or make the most of his or her holiday photos and home videos.?

?We are very pleased that 321 Studios has chosen to recognize the important work of the Electronic Frontier Foundation with a generous financial contribution over the next year,? said EFF Executive Director Shari Steele. ?321 Studios knows firsthand the importance of advocating copyright law that preserves the balance between the rights of innovators and the public.?

"This is a natural partnership that allows our customers to join the fight for digital rights. The EFF are working to protect those rights ? including that of Americans to protect their home entertainment investment through DVD backup and repair,? Moore continued. ?As the leader in the DVD backup, repair, and creation software industry, it makes sense for 321 and our customers to put some economic muscle behind that fight.?

Nyah....get the burner, but get the Elby offering of CloneDVD and the free DVDDecrypter. Rip the movies to hard drive then process the entire thing--keeping /dropping the content you want--in half the time as DVDXcopy. On my A04, I can Rip, Strip, Burn a FULL DVD-9 (like LOTR2T) to a single DVDR with 2CH audio in roughly 2-2.5 hours--and it has the menus and all. Generally, I can dupe a movie in less time than it takes to watch it--and that's at only a 2X burn.

DVDDecrypter can read/write the ISO of a DVD5 (ie PS2 Game) directly.

Not bad for $48 US/$39 Euro investment into the software!

Oh, and Slysoft finally has Elby's CloneCD up on the site. Forgot to post this the other day. It's downloadable and you can get the key online for $39 US. This is the BEST for duping CD's of ANY kind!

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.
