Plus it's even harder to relay to them that they are also breaking rules and have to tell them to follow them--especially those that feel nobody should correct them. All of a sudden their emotions get hurt and instead of obeying, they continue their efforts to make matters worse. Trust me, not a fun workday for an admin, especially when these individuals were moderators or high esteem persons in here. I am more than positive that if they would have followed the rules, plus any sidebar requests from the admins, everything would have been okay. I know that its human nature to fight and retaliate. I know that angry people don't think straight, plus if they surround themselves with others that are riding that same angry wagon, it will be even more tough for them to ever return to a rational state of mind. I do hope they all return and continue with the efforts of being a community. I know lots of them love psx-scene for what it was once, well, it's never too late to proceed with good examples. Lead by example, and not by ridicule. Instead of making matters worst with the admins, try to work with them. At the end, it's all about making this great.
As for the spamming issue. I am sure that many sites deal with this from time to time. And it's really not the staff's fault that this occurs. Even the developers of these "software-forum" sites are working hard to find ways to cope with it. I was told a long time ago, that if I find a topic where I think it's just full of spam (like someone selling an iphone or other electronics to even Viagra) to just report it by using the tiny "exclamation" icon in the thread. I've done my duty to report these and trust me when I say it that they all disappear after that. I think if more of us would participate by doing such things, these issues with spamming would closely cease to exist. A long time ago a wise man told me, that if I see something needing attention, to not complain, but do something about it.
As for the registered members issue, I think we all can agree that it got pretty busy here once the PS3 got jailbroken. I recall before this, it was pretty quiet here. Of course there was still a strong support for the PS2 hacks, but it wasn't the same after the PS3 got jailbroken. We were getting swarmed with tons of subscribers and repeated questions. Wow, it got even crazier when the jailbreak got ported to be used with iPods and other electronics, more and more people just going crazy here.. and it was fun! And then the multiple backup managers popping up everywhere.. boy it was busy. But like every thing, things tend to calm down after. I am sure things will pop up after (if and when) a new custom firmware makes headlines again.
Cool?
