Aww I feel all warm and fuzy inside! I've actually got my name in the title!
Anyways down to business, you can't simply create a blank partition while in OtherOS++ on rebug and than install red ribbon? I remember seeing people like Oozic who had 4 distributions on their machine. So it should be possible.
As for whether it's worth it to you or not, in all honesty I haven't used Red ribbon yet as I haven't gotten around to reinstalling OtherOS++. But it does look like a pretty slick OS. If you can't simply setup another partition on your PS3 and install it along side the current distro, I would look to switching over.
I'm not entirely sure if Rebug would allow you to use multiple distro's but I don't see why it shouldn't. All you should have to do is simply follow the instructions to create a new partition but replace the example CUI commands with the newly created partition you made. But I'll look into it tomorrow while I'm installing Ubuntu on my linux box. So hopefully by tomorrow I'll have some more information.
Have you tried manually creating a blank partition and than trying to install a new distro? If so what is the error message?

I got a Pm from ptearion, tried Pming him back but it wouldn't allow it. He also gave me his email and i emailed him so waiting on a reply ( since for some reason the site he said he was going to was "starred out" and i couldn't read it. Thanks Oozic, yea i'm stull usuing vflash method but guess what? the damn trophy error came back again! and i don't know what have those rebug settings do, and which there was a more detialed description somewhere but the other day i got the RSOD from it without even knowing it lol thought it was a bunch of jibberish written in spansih and thought nothing of it. Hopefully it was a glitch as all i had to do was hit the PS button on the controller and i was taken back to xmb. Don't remember what i did to get the RSOD, soemthing with the rebug selector, so now i leave it AS IS. PS3 seems fine though and no problems since.
so unfortunately i'm back on the the regular rebug 3.55.2 and update , as thats the only one working for me without the trophy registration error. No worries, since i know i can always go back and my debain install will always be there.

I may get some fallout for stating this, but here goes anyways. New and juvenile sites want to link their urls to a site as big as psx-scene, but it's not justifiable. They eagerly want traffic at all costs, since they don't know how to truly promote themselves, they try to spam a site like psx-scene with their links--since psx-scene has been established successfully for many years, they do this to hopefully gain more members. It's a power struggle. And it should not be allowed and they should not do it--they should learn to gain members the old fashion way--and that is have productive topics and clean up the dirty tactics and also ridiculous topics.
In the past, I've gotten asked and invited by PM to follow them to these new sites. I go over, I see a replica of forums like this site, but nothing new. Plus some of these sites do something I don't appreciate. They allow them to talk dirt about other sites--its usually from ex-members that were banned from this site--I guess they are hurtful and want nothing more than voice off and retaliate--pretty shallow and childish if you asked me, but it's allowed over there--I guess they think that is how to gain more quality members? If only they knew that truly backfires.
Obviously, it's not a productive goal they have in mind and I would strongly discourage our members to be led by people that have dark "unhelpful" agendas. And that's unfortunate, because some of this guys are pretty talented, too bad that their ego and abrasive personalities gets in the way--if only they showed a bit more matureness and politeness. We all could be a large and united group. And be a very productive scene. But they rather just fight than help us.
So now it's up to us to pick up the slack and continue where they left off. Hopefully some day they see that living in the dark side isn't rewarding and being among several grunting individuals isn't much fun. But if you like that kind of drama, you can go there. But if you like progress, then just stay here at psx-scene.

I checked out that site and it seemed pretty dead at the moment
maybe it will pick up. I think a better idea would set up some chat site or if there already is one in the works. This way we can all keep in touch and chat about the latest info. I'm also one for not bashing on other websites, they all want a piece of the pie and need to compete.

I heard that there was issues associated with the current administration and how they have treated ex-members with regards to criticising their methods in dealing with issues associated with the PSX-Scene and certain (legitimate) threads "disappearing" - Mr. GoodFrag was recently being given "the red card" by the current administration of the PSX-Scene because he effectively said that "this forum is going downhill" but the administrators said they're "working on improving the forum", but with increased spam and a reduction in helpful posts, I think it is starting to become more and more evident that the PSX-Scene is starting to go haywire and I hope the forum returns to its former glory
Speaking of spam, here's one example
- URL: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f179/sal...20/#post895481
Where's the moderators who are supposed to be dealing with this sort of bullcrap?
Also, I've noticed that there are wayyyyy fewer registered members on this forum than there was back when I registered (Feb 2011 - before the buyout by Caputo Media http://www.caputomedia.com/psx-scene.html ), so clearly something is REALLY MESSED UP!

It's pretty dead as it's obviously not as well-established as PSX-Scene and it will probably pick up largely thanks to the ex-members joining over to other sites, including that particular one
As for the chat idea, it's not a bad one actually, and it also scraps out the drawback of segregation (which is what you get with different forums with different approaches/mindsets)
