    Hey every1,

I've got a cechh version ps3 (first 16MB nor version, I think..) and I was following glevand's other os ++ faq to install debian until there was a problem. The Vflash 5 and 6 editing tools gave beeps when successful but upon using the vflash tool 7, there were no beeps and subsequently it failed. Resize pkg worked but upon installing debian, at the partitioning table there were no paritions available to install the os on. Did any1 else received this problem during installation?

    Thanks for the responses!

    PLEASE USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!

EDIT: Also since rebug made matters easier here is a link to the new rebug modified version of these tools. This should help you out.
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/f191/boo...ep-tool-86956/ (Boot OtherOS++ & OtherOS Prep Tool)

Here's the first site you need to look at. glevand It includes all the downloads to install everything you need.

Here are the tutorials from that site : lrn2linux

here are video tutorials from that site if text isn't enough : YouTube - Kanaal van Gitbrew

Check here : http://psx-scene.com/forums/f119/how...titboot-85533/ (How to resize vflash and install petitboot)

That is an entire thread dedicated to using the dual boot method to install linux. That also serves as a troubelshooting topic if you have any problems. So please use that. Make sure you read this topic all the way through before you make a post. As most of the problems are detailed. The last 10 pages will go over some problems as well which can be fixed with instructions I have provided or others have provided. So again read it from page 1 all the way through please.

here : Here is the thread for another problem that happens sometimes if you mess up. I've also documented several things in this thread as well.

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/f177/how...ash-7-a-86324/ (How do I restore Vflash 7)

Here's also a topic for game compatibility after you get otherOS++ installed and linux. Some games don't work with this CFW right now because it's only been out for about a week or two. :http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/oth...36/#post813956 (OtherOS++ game compatibility list)

Now please use the search function from now on instead of making a topic because you don't feel like searching the forums. Just because you are a new user doesn't excuse you from not searching the forums.

here is the search page so you don't even have to click on the tab at the top. BOOK MARK THIS! : http://psx-scene.com/forums/search.php

Sorry to be a bit harsh but I'm seriously getting tired of having to answer these exact same topics because people don't know how to use a simple search function.

The thing I don't get is that the posts you redirected me to doesn't resolve the problem I've stated. In your post about the cechh01, you say that it has a 256 nand but according to graf it doesn't. The convo moves away after that. Also if this a forum (catered mostly for end users and not devs from what I've seen), you don't have to respond to any threads if you get aggravated by the "noob" questions and afterwards begin to flame away at the tc. lol that's why nobody asks for help or rarely decides to post anything. Anyways, I got it to work with the rebug pkg so its all good.

Actually yes they both do. If you read through them you would see all the issues that you may have or do have, and how to fix them. I didn't say read just one page.

I outlined specifically in my post to read all the threads all the way through. So that way you can solve your issues, and any that come up in the future. As the biggest thread has all of the problems documented with solutions.

I gave you those threads because they are the proper place to report your problems, and read about the problem you outlined in your post, and any problems you may have in the future. You know how I know this? Because in both of those threads I've specifically documented how to fix the problems that are most common in this forum, as well as the specific one you were having.

Also I chastise noobs because they don't know how to use a simple search function. Just like you. If you would have done a search on the forum you would have seen posts similar to yours with these exact links to the proper threads where you should be reporting your issues, instead of cluttering up the forum with more posts. If you and many others took 10 seconds to search the forum instead of saying screw it and just posting a completely new thread, you would have already fixed your problem without even starting a new topic. But it's called laziness. Sorry if I'm being harsh, but all the information is out there and if you or anyone else can't take the time out of your day to search for it, why should anyone help you? You need to help yourself before we can help you.

Alot of us on here do this in our own free time and it's quite frustrating when we see 10 posts every week with the exact same type of "I didn't feel like searching through the forums, so here's my problem. Help me!"

PS: I wasn't in anyway flaming you. Just because you don't agree with what I had to say, doesn't mean I'm flaming you. I didn't flame you at all. I was even being polite while I said to search the forums. (Well semi polite.) The point is even at the top of the page I said PLEASE SEARCH THE FORUMS. While it's in all caps, it isn't flaming at all.
