Just to chime, in I really like that I can use Ubuntu on my 120GB slim, but I'm going to wait until sound is implemented before I use this daily.

Alright guys, I know i'm gonna get laughed at. But will installing ubuntu in my ps3... allow me to install and run games... say... WoW?
Of course i'm 99% sure that's a no, but it's better to make sure, yes?
No. It probably won't run anything other then emulators. We don't have enough power to do that. Even running ubuntu by itself with swap is still pretty slow. If you want to play 3D games on linux you need a regular computer until RSX is implemented and even then I honestly believe a distro is gonna have to be fully designed to take advantage of the entire PS3 before it becomes full speed.
Anyone successful in configuring wireless?

has anyone who has got ubuntu working on the ps3 tried installing XBMC on it yet?
heres a guide to installing XBMC on ubuntu
HOW-TO install XBMC for Linux on Ubuntu, a Step-by-Step Guide - XBMC
if this can work i might finally try linux on my ps3.
then its just a matter of having a dual boot option and we get our ps3 media player + homebrew station all in one!
