It has been four decades of evolution and development since invention of cheap wireless mice in 1968.
Over the past decade, with the popularization of the computer, the working method of mouse has changed greatly: from the mechanical wheel mouse of early period to the current mainstream photoelectric mouse to high-end laser mouse... Every evolution of mouse has brought the customers a feeling of excitement and pleasure. In addition, it is more and more popular to meet people's increasing demands of convenience in working environment and operation.
Wireless technology can be divided into different categories by different purposes and frequency: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11), Infrared (IrDA), ZigBee (IEEE 802.15.4) and so on. But the mainstream is only three kinds: 27Mhz, 2.4G and Bluetooth one. This is connected to the host mouse directly. Usually use 27M, 2.4G, Bluetooth technology to communicate with the host device wirelessly.
Though the wireless mouse is not widely-spread, its development can be dated long back. Back in 1984, Logitech invented the first one. It employed the infrared rays as signal carrier. Thogh this product was failed becaused of many functional problems, Logitech's innovation on wireless technology has broadened the ways of thought to later products.
In 1994, Logitech developed RF 27MHz Wireless mouse successfully. Afterwards, the wireless mouse had developed rapidly. 27MHz technology had become the mainstream for wireless keyboard and wireless car mouse.
In the year of 1998, SIG was established to study Bluetooth technoloty. However, 2.4G non-networking solution and Bluetooth technology are applied only in recent years.
