Hello and thanks for the guide.
I am a Windows OS user and I used to rip my bluray movies with Yellow Dog Linux but now that I moved on to a CFW3.55 I need another linux OS to do the ripping...
I'm having issues with step 5: mke2fs -F debian2.img
I'm getting that no such file o directory message, why?
rarevalo@ubuntu:~$ cd /home/rarevalo/Desktop
rarevalo@ubuntu:~/Desktop$ dd if=/dev/zero of=linux2.img seek=44400999999 bs=1 count=1
1+0 records in
1+0 records out
1 byte (1 B) copied, 0.000440238 s, 2.3 kB/s
rarevalo@ubuntu:~/Desktop$ mke2fs -F debian2.img
mke2fs 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010)
mke2fs: No such file or directory while trying to determine filesystem size
One more thing... If you noticed, I changed the value to create an smaller image than the value used in this tutorial but I entered that value by guessing so: How should I determine the value for an new empty image? IE: If I want to create an image with 13 or 19 or 42 GB of empty space... what is the logic behind all that to determine the right value for the desired image.
And I have another doubt different than this topic:
Why I cant mount Linux ext3 or HFS+ partitions in Debian V3 (khaOS)?
Thanks in advance
After several hours of crapy linux on the ps3. I have get it to work with the commands above (thanks for that) on a windows 7 machine. I have searched a long time until i found a program called cygwin to send the command via a command promt to the ps3. I have tryed 3 or 4 programs to send the damn command to the ps3 to get the ps3 to dump the bluray over lan but nothing worked. They all do only connect to the ps3 via openssh and you can look what's on the linux partition. It's only a remote access feuter the programs have so you can use a command promt/terminal to type like you are on the ps3. Only usefull if you are at another place to have access to your ps3.

i had to use it because my linux (kahos v3) doesn't want to mount my network shares. I Don't know why it didn't mount my shares but i tryed everything and gave up on that.
My command to get the dump looks like this :
ssh email@example.com dd if=/dev/sr0 | dd of=BlurayRip.iso
after that you can find your dump in the cygwin folder if you are looking for it.
