in there site , they say that RC3 have a pb in the install ad suggest to use RC2 or wait RC4 .

Nota: Se ha detectado un problema con el instalador de la RC3. De momento utilizad la RC 2.
Actualización: Ya he encontrado el problema y lo he solucionado para la próxima RC.

How do you install other apps ? This is a distro based on Debian
I open up the terminal and type for example sudo apt-get install openoffice

    Then this appears

sudo: unable to resolve host (none)
    [sudo] password for ps3: ps3
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
N: Ignoring file 'local-packages.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
E: Unable to locate package openoffice
Any ideas ? I also tried to download the installer OOo_3.3.0_Linux_x86-64_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz , opened it up with Synaptics Package Manager but nothing happens

    Hi,

You can fix this problem by executing the online update:

Thanks , i did the update and managed to install Open Office and VLC ( why does it not get image , only sound ? )
Some programs are having errors though ,for example Pidgin , when i try to install it i gen an error..could not install libpurple0 , then i install that i get an error of can't install another one that's related..and so on . I also tried Pidgin.deb and installing with Gdebi , same errors
Another issue , the keyboard , i selected US type keyboard at installation but now the special symbols like ?-/ are all chaotically placed , totally not like a standard keyboard we're all used to. Can we change that ?
Are the any limitations of me not being able to become root ? I tried the password ps3 but it's incorrect . Is there another one ? Are we allowed to know it ?

You must configure VLC in video output preferences.

You can install pidgin by executing:

    sudo aptitude install pidgin

    It will ask you:

The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

Keep the following packages at their current version:
    1) libperl5.10 [Not Installed]
    2) libpurple-bin [Not Installed]
    3) libpurple0 [Not Installed]
    4) pidgin [Not Installed]

    Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?]

You must answer N and It will ask:

    Install the following packages:
    1) libperl5.10 [5.10.1-17squeeze1 (stable)]

    Then you answer Y.

You can change keyboard layout executing:

    sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-data

And you can change root password executing:

    sudo passwd root

    Best regards

I have my ps3 connected by hdmi on at 26"(?) with 1080p output, and my letters are very distorted in red ribbon. Is there a way to change this or should I use my original av cables?

    Petitboot has the same problem?

Can you verify using GameOS that PS3 runs with 1080p and it is 1920x1080 and not 1920x1200?

    Best regards
