I was wandering if anyone has tried using their ps3, after installing linux, as a ftp or http(web) server.
this would make a great low cost home server.
Seeing "This site is hosted on my PS3" would be great

I have no reason to suspect that it wouldn't work, but the performance wouldn't be anything to shout about since it would be streaming from a laptop HD.
well I've ran a ftp server off a p3-700 system before not sure how good it did but it worked.
umm .. perhaps i'm missing something here.. why spend 450 quid for a ftp server when you can buy a freecom job out of the box all set up for one hundred and fifty?. mind you i'm a hypocrite cos i use my old ps2 dev kit for exactly the same thing..![]()
heh indeed..![]()
