i have a NAND PS3 and I installed the 3.55 OtherOS++ . petitboot froze on its first time running. i tried to use my keyboard, but it was completely frozen. so i had to do a hard power off. after this it black screens at trying to get to recovery menu, gameos and service mode.

I have tried formatting my hard drive and that didnt work either.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Because it doesn't work on nand ps3s. That's your problem.
Not sure what you can do, sorry.

Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.

I stand corrected, I wasn't aware it was public yet, it seems it just became public. I assume you used the publicly released files, and not the files given to beta testers, I'm aware of one brick caused by an early beta version. Been too busy with work recently, I'm a bit out of the loop.

Edit: Ok, so nand support was added on the 22 of last month, really out of the loop...
Normally I know about these things immediately...

turns out the stuff for NAND was in the Alpha stages. And bugs were not reported. so... we have a lot of bricks. The guys at gitbrew were very helpful. We figured out it actually is a full brick. No FSM or Recovery. Very sad. But its okay. Now I have a reason to get an xbox 360

Ahh... Kinda suckish then, I think I'll pop into irc for a bit this weekend and catch up on these things. From what I heard, a very early version could cause a brick in some situations, but they fixed it in the next version, at least I thought so.
I kinda wish I had a brick, so I had an excuse to wire up a nand/nor flasher, and learn how to fix it. But then again, I wouldn't have the time... Damn work...

Btw, first I heard of a solution for nand models was a post on grafs blog today. That's the one thing I will make the time to read no matter what.

The traditional older petitboot methods are 100% deprecated. Try doing it again with the latest tools as of 6/5 and 6/6.

That will work this time. But make sure you follow the instructions to the T.

Also you should have waited before you tried the tools from the 22nd. Those were highly experimental and in all honesty they actually got them working 100% as of 6/5 6/6. So yea....

@cookie have you installed the new version and tools yet?

Your seeing a lot of bricks? I call bullshit on that one! This is the first reported brick for OtherOS++. I have personally installed and used it a good 20 times.

So show proof or stfu. Also wanin was basically a bricker firmware. OtherOS++ if it has caused more then just 1 brick is only because people used highly experimental tools.

I believe the tools that were available on the 22nd were still vflash related but I could be wrong. But as I said above 6/5 and 6/6 had updates so their shouldn't be anymore bricks.

But like I said wanin caused over 100 bricks, OtherOS++ has only caused 1 too my knowledge. If there are more I don't see any. So put your money where your mouth is.

I have personally tested the previous methods and I will be installing the new method tomorrow.

Ahh I see people were using Alpha software for a version that had been completely incompatible previously. No freaking wonder. Why would anyone other then a select few beta testers that are directly involved in the development process use an Alpha version? I'm sorry but you asked for a brick.

So @Mack you seriously need to get your facts straight. The software that was tested has been working fine and I guarantee the new software that was just released will work fine as well. If your gonna dog a developer at least be smart enough to research what condition the software is in. Which in this case for the NAND version was an Alpha. So expect bricks. But now the very latest and greatest version are fine.

Don't ever compare wanin to glevland or any other good dev in this scene. wanin was notorious for half assed crap in the wii scene. He extended that into the PS3 scene.

Anyways I'll be releasing a full guide for this new OtherOS++ in the coming days. I almost had one ready but he completely switched methods on me so now I gotta start all over.

The new tools are NOT 100% working as I and at least one other have had a FULL BRICK from them. I didn't use the 5/22 tools. I used the ones from the 5th. There is no recovery and I suggest you tell the people who are reading your thread to not install this on a NAND console as the tools are in ALPHA stages. I spoke with gitbrew about this. They said "so far it's literally 40/60 right now on the percentage of working." That's a direct quote from "Snowy" in the gitbrew IRC.
