What kinda PS3 do you have? Does it fall between CECHA-CECHG (older fat PS3, has NAND) or CECHH+ (newer fat or slim, has NOR). There's a sticker on your console, read what it says.
oralphie: Will this allow chuck norris to play backups??? PLZ HELP!!!

This one.. It's been updated and covers all models fully. Read it very carefully before you begin!

Ik have fat CECHH-04 (only 40GB) So i used this guide to install on internal HD.

But what do i have to do here?

    Partition the PS3 Drive
    1. parted /dev/ps3dd
    2. mklabel gpt
    3. mkpart primary 0 2GB
    4. print
    5. mkpart primary 2GB (the rest of the hard drive here.)

I did all that, and at point 5 i did mkpart primary 2GB 4GB

Do i have a 2GB partition to install linux then?

And then what? I folowed the next link: PS3:Linux - Wikibrew

But that makes no sense to me at all. I want to install a linux version that i can use as media player and install xbmc on (just for fun)

But i have no idea if i dit the pervious stept the right way and how i need to continue from there...

    And what is vflash...

Follow the site instructions. If that's too hard just wait a bit longer.

When you do no 5 mkpart primary 2GB is your swap space and the rest of your drive is the size of the rest of the partition space (I used the 22gb pup) so i use 22GB (i cant remember the exact number) but
when you use the print command there should be 22GB number or something use that number

I don't know where you got a 6gb partition from

Just follow this tut http://7track.org/~glevand/public/IN...OTHEROS_ON_HDD and you shouldn't be far wrong I wasn't
or this 1 has all the tools PS3:OtherOS++ - Wikibrew
