OtherOS++ makes games stop with error 80010505

just to let you all know, I reformatted my HD today using my laptop (petitboot was unable to remove the region 7, error in line 39 script) and installed the latest OtherOS++ CFW (CFW355-OTHEROS++-22GB) and tested 1 game (COD MW2) which gave this error and now it runs without problem !!!

I installed the 22Gb CFW, losing 185Gb with the original half HD CFW was a little to much for me.

Now I will continu with installing petitboot and linux etc. and see if MW2 still runs before I will test other games.

Looks like they fixed it great job again !!

They didn't fix it. The patch I was talking about wasn't enabled on this CFW, that's all.

Haven't tested the ps3_utils yet, installing debian right now. Will test it later when I have time
But can't think of a reason they are disabled now. Partition table with GPT is also different and the use of ps3dd. Maybe this is he reason it works now?
Something like a workaround to the patch you discovered that was causing the problem?

Nope. A few days ago I reported to Glevand on IRC that this patch was causing the trophy bug, and he said himself he didn't enable that patch on this CFW.
You can probably even see that it's not there on the changelog when you install the firmware.

did you use Rebug 3.55.1 and PS3MFW together with their script:

"OtherOS++ LV1 Hypervisor patches for REBUG"

and just deselect:

"Allow access to all SS services (Needed for ps3dm-utils)"

from the PS3MFW GUI before apply the patch script and leave all other patches for OtherOS++ selected? thanks!

did you use Rebug 3.55.1 and PS3MFW together with their script:

"OtherOS++ LV1 Hypervisor patches for REBUG"

and just deselect:

"Allow access to all SS services (Needed for ps3dm-utils)"

from the PS3MFW GUI before apply the patch script and leave all other patches for OtherOS++ selected? thanks!

thanks for the fast reply and that's really interesting. what firmware do you use for base and patch? do you use "OtherOS++ LV1 Hypervisor patches for REBUG" set of patches for PS3MFW or something? i guess i'm just paranoid, but i prefer the exact steps you did, because it seems it works for you, i.e. you didn't 'brick' you console. also, what PS3 model you have? many thanks in advance.

I use OFW.
I use the LV1 patches and emer_init patches from glevand's git (http://git.gitbrew.org/ps3/) (careful when patching emer_init only choose one of the patches, whichever suits you best).
Also, I got a Slim CECH-2503B.

I now have this error with a few games. Some just black screen and others give the trophy sync problem. it seemed to come out of nowhere though. Everything was working fine but now nothing wants to work. Only thing i did recently was update to the new multiman, when 2.00 came out. Still on the same otherOS cfw. I don't feel like updating to any new, as debian is working fine. Saw a topic in general forum about editing dev_flash xregistry but i think i'll wait and see what comes up.

So i went looking and i couldn't open the registy.sys file in multiman, so i copied it to usb stick and tried opening the file on my PC but my computer couldn't open it in text editor or any other reader, don't know why. I'm using ubuntu 11.04. I'll give FTP'ing a try.

if you find a solution or patch for the 80010505 trophy error, please let me know. i dont want to reinstall the complete debian again :-)
