OtherOS++ makes games stop with error 80010505

I have OtherOS++ working with the OtherOS++ pup. Linux works great but as soon as I want to start a game on GameOS I get a black screen on top of the game screen saying it can't sync trophies error code 80010505 and then the game quits if I hit OK.

This happens with clean account and running original BD.
If i restore my /home folder and use recovery my trophies are restored but same problem.
It also happens running Gaia manager and MM 2.0. Anybody knows if this can be bypassed in any way?
all kinds of format of GameOS didn't help also
Installing BDemu no result, though I think it is not needed to run an original BD.

So is this only on actual game discs? Or does this happen on backups as well? I'll test Resistance 2 out now. I haven't tried backups on OtherOS++ because I'm still trying to get everything working.

But please clarify, do game backups give this error as well? Or is it just original game discs?

What model are you using for OtherOS++? Also are you connected to the internet at all? Which firmware version are you using? 3.50, 3.41, or 3.55? Final question, what game are you trying?

EDIT: I'm running a PS3 80GB PHAT NON BC - CECHK01 with OtherOS++ 3.55.

So far games that work with original disc :

Uncharted 2
Resistance 2 - Fully testing it right now. Will report back in about 5 minutes.

All of these games I tried with original retail disc. I have not tried MM based backups though. So I need the information I requested from above. Also this is on a fresh format with no information moved back over. Which means I have no gamedata, no saved games, no nothing. Completely clean install. Also no connection to the internet also.

EDIT2: Assassin's creed II doesn't work. It gives the same error you said. So that must mean either it requires PSN to be up, or something with OtherOS++. Whatever game is doing it, test it on 3.55 CFW(kamew).

This could be related to the fact that some games want to sync trophy data so maybe the fact that PSN is down could be causing this? Or it could be something with OtherOS++. I'll send a tweet to gitbrew and if he doesn't reply I'll ask on IRC.

FINAL EDIT: Yea Resistance 2 works so it may be something to do with PSN being down. Trophy data syncing I believe still requires an internet connection even if you don't sign into PSN. But I'll know more when you report back. I also sent a tweet to @gitbrew.

What it has to do with is other OS custom firmware has nothing to do with custom firmware used for games. So i guess it's sort of a pick your poison, you want to play backuped games on MM reinstall kmeaws CFW. Does the other OS firmware even play emulators?

I hope kmeaw is still working on his custom dual booting.

OtherOS++ does infact work with homebrew. I have played prboom on it. I also played that demo from thatotherdev.

Some games are working with OtherOS++ and I can run MM. SO I actually believe it has something to do with the PS3 wanting to connect to PSN networks to sync trophies. I'm not 100% sure though. Once I get linux setup correctly I'll start installing some of my backups and test them out.

Can someone make sure that ACII actually works RIGHT now with 3.55 CFW? It could very well be the fact that the PS3 wants to connect to PSN for trophies. Which is why it's giving that error. If it works with 3.55 kamew CFW even without PSn access than yea it's OtherOS++.

If it is OtherOS++ that is doing it, that sucks. I hope the dev fixes it so we can have all three. I honestly can't switch back and forth between the firmwares so it's a deal breaker. I'll end up going back to 3.55 kamew until a working solution comes if it is indeed on otheros++ end.

Also he wants people to send him reports of any games that aren't working so he can try and get them working. it will help improve the release. So I'm gonna make another topic on this.

you also might get some random game crashes as long DM is patched :P
thats why some of the patches should be applied during runtime only!

Well no worries it's in active development so all the bugs will be fixed.If this dude didn't do it we would never have a completely bugfree version because of what happened to graf. The funny thing is though all the devs said they were only interested in linux but only graf and kameaw actually released anything. Both math,kakaroto and fail never released anything remotely linux related. So obviously they actually weren't interested in linux.

I have it with original disks and with backups. Have installed BDemu again to see if it was a payload problem. Have put my Trophies backup (/home) back and did data recovery so my old Trophies are back but this makes no difference also. Only old games without trophies want to start.

But the thing I don't understand is there is no Trophy info at all at a clean system so why does it want to sync?

and the games do run, only as soon as the game starts the transparant black screen with the error message comes on top of it but sound and graphics continue.
all we need is to find out why the PS3 wants to sync without any trophies on the system.

Edit: original problem was found by Toboko on PS3Hax: PS3 unable to register trophies after OTHEROS++ update - PS3Hax Network - Playstation 3 Hacks and Mods. He has tried also some things to fix the problem. I was to busy with Ubuntu so I only tested the problem yesterday.

Edit2: I have looked around and it might xregistry (dev_flash2) has something to do with it. I only don't know if OtherOS++ xregistry holds information about HV patches. If it doesn't I can try to put the original xregistry back as soon as the full format is finished.

Well what i mean is for all the fuss about "we want linux" the only dev to really get linux working on the PS3 is graf, and now this dude because he is continuing graf's work. All the others may have done one initial version but it was nowhere near complete. Hence the irony of this whole scene being about linux and homebrew, and the devs trying to get it. But look how long it has taken to really mature.
