Ok. These are the last few steps to complete my linux instalation. Now I must compile my kernel but when I type "git clone --depth=1 git://git.gitbrew.org/ps3/ps3linux/linux-2.6.git" it gives me an error:

    root@ps3-linux:/usr/src# git clone git://git.gitbrew.org/ps3/ps3linux/linux-2.6.git
    Cloning into linux-2.6...
    git.gitbrew.org[0: 71.183.67.108]: errno=Connection refused
fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection refused)

But the git repo works. On my pc I can type gitbrew.org click on Repo and there is it: ps3/ps3linux/linux-2.6.git
Why do I get the error?

Yes, first thing you should do is install a CFW. When you install Rebug the linux partition will take 22GB of space.
When you play backups of your games you should install a CFW without SS patches(e.g. Rebug) because they cause trophy error.
A list of CFW from Gitbrew you can find here: PS3:Firmwares - Wikibrew.
Most other CFW take 22GB and are v3.55 but if you don't want to update to 3.55 you can wait for JFW DH. It is under development(http://psx-scene.com/forums/content/...s-report-1246/) and it's 3.41. But there is no problem to downgrade again to 3.41 from 3.55 with QA flag.

    Hello 1roberto12
Thank you for your answer!!! I have a fat ps3 I tryed CFW OtherOs 3.41 from GitBrew and i succed on installling bootloader, but even i restoring my Ps3 to defaults this firmware did not spit my HD, so i updated my ps3 to OFW 3.55 and installed GameOS/Linux CFW 3.55 SPECIAL, on this firmware i successfully did a downgrade attempt and after installed linux. Again thankx a loot by your leading!!!

I've installed my linux distro on /dev/ps3dd2 and when I rebooted to petitboot my distro popped up in the choise list but every time I wanna boot it it says "system is going down now..."
It stops there and does nothing. Whats the problem?
