I have gotten through petitboot and run create_hdd_region sh
I'm not sure, but I typed ls and ps3dd was there, so I assumed that worked.
The next step, however, has me in a bind.
When I downloaded these files, the initimg sh apparently was to direct the ps3 to download an iso
I already have multiple iso's, and I lack a home internet connection, so I was wondering if there has been a version of initimg released that doesnt require me to use internet.

So far you have petitboot installed, you just need linux installed now.
It is going to be hard to get linux running without a working internet connection. I would suggest you try red ribbon linux, just download the iso, burn to cd, and start from petitboot.
If you don't like rr then follow a guide here(PS3:Linux - wikibrew). just unpack your iso and mount it where it says to mount it.
