Man thats kboot and its been out for awhile now AND was for otheros. AsbestOS is not otheros as it runs on top of gameos.

i have a question
what is so important about Linux?
i mean we have jailbreak method now if we ever wanted to exploit PS3 and run homebrews
the only thing i could see Linux usful is running PC games that have 256 for a min. of memory. other then that what is the point to it?

With a different kernel you can exploit in YOUR WAY the PS3 Hardware.
With GameOS it's very very more difficult. I mean... many people know linux and how to code it... less people knows PS3 SDK.

Btw... I think OtherOS will be enabled as soon will exist a Custom Firmware.

For now I remain on my 3.15... I love to play MAME with sixaxis... :-)

Guys I know that AsbestOS is a good thing, and is the only for now on ps3.
But can someone tell me, is there somebody who tries to make Ubuntu to be workable again on ps3?
Because looks to me that Ubuntu is the most advanced OS ever created for ps3.
YellowDog is so so to me...

Once AsbestOS is user-friendly enough to not require netboot stuff, *then* I'll take the time to build a Ubuntu kernel and post an image

I am just very hope that Martin will create such Ubuntu-image for people who wants Linux on their PS3s....

I very hope that he wont lose any interest with his development, cause Linux on ps3 slim is very important for me...
