Well there is a leaked Sony SDK but you have to find that yourself.
But yes most of the time hackers start with the information they can find through documentation from the official hardware providers relating to the system, and then find the rest on their own.

i am sorry folks i have been looking for the last week and still cant find this answer. i have a cechk01 model and i want to put ubuntu on it. but i guess i am ate up with the dumb ass and cant find if it has nand or not. i would like to atleast know what to google to find my answer. thanks

You have the same model that I do. So you have a 16MB NOR. So the current method, and even the vflash method will work perfectly fine for you. So just go to gitbrew.org and start using the tools.
