These is tools compiled from our friends over at ps3gen.fr(Korben,cryptr and those at #ps3linux =) and also a thanks for usb method to Hikage! )...these are the guys who ive been developing the live cd solution with and they kindly agreed to share there tools which are comfirmed as working and a few added bonus's

Petitboot - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Tools for 3.41 - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Tools for 3.55 - Multiupload.com - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Otheros bootloader and panic 1 for 3.41 - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Otheros bootloader and panic 1 for 3.55 - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

resize_flash for 10gb (for lower harddrive sizes 3.41/3.55) - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

    resize_flash for 20gb (for lower harddrive sizes 3.41/3.55) - http://www.multiupload.com/NLZFRLCNMQ

Also with certain models of the ps3...mainly the first nor phats you need to keep the usb stick in the ps3

Now a quick guide to how this works

for these steps apart from resize_vflash it will ask to reinstall your firmware but ignore it and press ps button twice dont reinstall your firmware!

1,delete vflash 5 (once completed press ps buttom twice to return to xmb)
2,delete vflash 7 (once completed press ps buttom twice to return to xmb)
3,create vflash 5 (once completed press ps buttom twice to return to xmb)
4,resize_vflash (this will return you to xmb without kickin up a fuss)
5,create vflash 7 (once completed press ps buttom twice to return to xmb)
(a format will be required here)

6,Only put on the usb petitboot imagedtb.ps3.bin and install/run petitboot to vflash 5 (both onto root of usb)
(remove all media and shutdown and cold boot ps3)
7,then install/run install bootloader otheros loader (can hang for upto 20 seconds in a black screen this is normal)
    8,then finally install/run panic 5

the final steps sometimes black screen for abit but let it run its course!

This is really cool thanks to all that were involved. If I use this to get petitboot and the other_os bootloader installed does it support multiple linux installs.

lets say i wanted Ubuntu and an old PS3 otherOS tool called Swiss army knife installed? Would this be the way?

of course...petitboot works like any loader just uses its own method...you could put as many distro's as you please onto your ps3...just make sure you have the space and also remember to compile the kernel properly and write it up in the kboot.conf of that distro so petitboot will discover it when present

Hmmm, it is definitely freezing up when I try to delete vflash5. Perhaps this isnt working for my model. I am running 3.55 kmeaw btw.

^^ I think you need to have a FW with lv1 patched. Easiest way is to create one using the latest . (MFWBuilder v.02)

Rebug has lv1 patched apparently, but I couldn't get it to work. Best results I've had were using MFW with lv1 + 2 patched using that tool I linked to. I haven't had proper success with it yet.
oralphie: Will this allow chuck norris to play backups??? PLZ HELP!!!
