Also for what it's worth i only have to unplug my right usb dongle with my keyboard and mouse attached to it. The left which has my external HD attached is fine to leave in when booting ubuntu. Not sure if it's the same for everyone else. But thought that would make it easier for soem of you instead of having to unhook both.

IT WORKS GEORGE!!! you are the man!! and my graf kernel was still there and everything.

Only thing i came across is when i ran BOOTOS with my usb HD attached it said flash remap failed, ran it again and same thing. unhooked it and it didn't. But that probaably doesn't matter anyway!

yep, works very well on my slim no more plugging out

still didn't fix problem I had (didn't expect it to help) - every time I try to login in Ubuntu I get "Kernel Panic - not syncing" :/

Looks good formenos! i'll give it a go in a few. Which brings me to another point.. how come i can't get anything to run on vlc player? on my pc with ubuntu i can run everything, but on ps3 ubuntu i can't get anything at all to play no matter what codecs i install.

Also gnash is garbage and don't bother with it. 99% of the time it doesn't work. Same with lightspark. I found another adobe flash replacement the other day but couldn't get it to run.

A good youtube alternative that doesn't use flash is minitube. I had that up and running when i had the old ubuntu img files on my ps3. But now for some reason it doesn't work at all also get fatal error and video wont load.

open up ubuntu software center and type in swfdec and install both plugins and it can play flash but when i tryed to load it it was almost too laggy to really watch anything (but it is a flash player alternative)

also anyone know if theres a way to play minecraft on ps3
installed java and launched minecraft and it downloaded everything then the screen went black

I would be surprised if it managed to play Minecraft smoothly, Java isn't known for being light on resources. Also, are you talking about the free version or paid version and are you using a stand-alone client or the client in browser?

I was wondering the same thing a while ago about Minecraft and the PS3, and I don't think it's going to happen.. What I might end up doing though is to see if I can get my Minecraft Server running on a barebone Distro, my problem is though is that most plugins I use are compiled using Java 1.6. I need to look into OpenJDK PPC builds, and go from there..
