I had the disc in right after starting my ps3.

OK, burning to CD-R gives all the options we need (install, expert, ...)

Pressing on install will result in nothing.. it just keeps hanging, nothing happens.

edit: I have a 120gig slim, running 3.55 kmeaw.. used the petit and lv2 patcher from first posting of this thread and didnt had asbestos or something similar installed before.

edit2: tried expert mode with same results

I've had the same hanging issues on a PAL 60gb UK model so will try the alternative iso tonight - interestingly my old YDL disc worked but only allowed complete overwriting of the internal HDD (Yes i tested it LOL!) no options for external hdd's!

hanging issue!! 320 gb ps3 slim ,,,40gb external hdd , ntfs ,, freezes after press install or any other option !! help please doin my head in now ,, also when this happens i have to unplug my ps3 by the mains , wich btw i hate doing!!!

THat did the trick george! Need the alternate download for machines with less than 256 ram. Now i see expert mode and am ready to download! Thanks for the help!

lol spoke too soon :( Now it's frozen at Booting expert.....

I notice there is edit, open options. Maybe we are supposed to to edit the installs?

Mine says

i have an USB 500 gb external HD ext3 format.

try the "install" option and report back...atm because alot of people are struggling...im making a quick fix which should get you up n running on ubuntu after u download it

sadly i was having some trouble with this as well, used 10.10 ppc+playstation torrent. tried on both cd and dvd, same results. stack dump after each option.

Thanks George. Same problem though with "install" hear the CD spinning, then it just seems to stop and hangs at booting install...
I even kept it on for a while and eventually the screen just went black.other install options are
