gitbrew connection refused

hey everyone

another problem surfaces as i continue my quest to install linux:
following this guide http://wiki.gitbrew.org i am at the point where i need to install the kernel.
it says to do a "git clone git://git.gitbrew.org/ps3/ps3linux/linux-2.6.git".
well, when i do that i get the following error:

root@ps3-linux:/usr/src# git clone git://git.gitbrew.org/ps3/ps3linux/linux-2.6.git
Cloning into linux-2.6...
git.gitbrew.org[0: 173.220.0.157]: errno=Connection refused
fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection refused)

what might be the problem this time?

what might be the problem this time?

the git is down, this happens quite frequently sadly. you can help the situation by donating to gitbrew to help them with server costs.

just try again later, at this current time the git seems to be up.

i thought they would have dealt with their migration issues by now. is there no alternate repo?

I seriously doubt we will see a mirror repo considering the legal implications. Unless we see a host from russia. The legal issues is why they are hosted on a private server.
