8th spe
Ok so does somebody know how we can make appear the 8th spe (or spu) in spu-top i mean i have unlocked it (thanks to the guy who find out that) but its not showing in spu-top ; why?
I have umount and mount again the spu's but still nothing.
The max i can get to show is 7 (go until 6 in spu-top)
Might it be dead in my case?

If you unlocked it in the syscon using Update Manager, then it's unlocked. 0 = 1.
But if that SPE fails anytime (it's not reliable), then you'll have a irreversible brick that can only be fixed with the help of IBM.
And trust me, if it was dead, you'd know.

Ok at least its not bricked so spe not broken.:)
But the thing is i get 7 (n°0-6) before unlocked the 8th.(the 7th disabled by LV1 but now we can easily get it with us by adding one arg to kboot.conf)
This one wich was with ps3dm_um is not showing up.
I mean should i have to kind of mount it or i don't know?

What did you use to unlock it? Did you use Update Manager using graf_chokolo's kernel.
-
Yes.
When i check now i get the expected result of 0x07.
But in spu-top or with a program that use spe's nothing more than number 0 to 6 so only 7 spe's in use or even detected?
-
As long as the check results in 0x07 then you're good to go. But like it said, the 8th SPE is prone to fail. If it does, you're done.

Yes thanks i get that already but the strange thing is even when i use a program wich use spe's computing and i give instruction to use 8 spe guess what??
Same result or computing power or whatever you call it the same ?/s are showing off.
And spu-top a tool that shows processes and kind of things like that show (only) 7 spe's at all not 8 so my guess was:
1/ spe dead
2/ something to do i don't know
edit: yes you right i guess and read its not reliable

So none knows or have experienced this issue apparently?
Ps: this is thor or master737373?? Lol
