Games such as metal gear solid 5 or yakuza 4 requires you to preinstall the game. Is there anyway I can move those required installs onto the external? I don't want to waste my internal hdd and utilize my 3tb to the fullest.

Yes. It is a 3TB usb external.

What is the method and why is it not recommended?

Just so we are understanding what I am asking, I am asking to have my required installs moved to the external so that I may play the game without wasting space on the internal.

    Is this the method?

Used with Open Manger 2.1I-2 you can even install all mandatory game content installs to the external HDD as well. Only downfall of the backup manager is it has no lv2 support so you need a CFW like Waninikoko's or you have to run the lv2 patcher but once the games are installed to the external it can be loaded form Iris Manager.

partitions? multiMAN has the option without all that (after you play a game using External Storage for game data you need to restart system before doing anything else
