X3max - Questions
X3max - Questions –
11-11-2010,11:30 AM
Hello everyone.
Today I've received my pen - X3max.
I already flash it with this:
x3MAX_Generic.bin (they said to flash this one first)
x3MAX_Hermes_V4.bin
I need to flash something more?
My PS3 console is 3.41. My questions are:
What is the difference between Gaia Manager and Open Manager? They are the same?
Which one is the best?
I have a laptop, how can I transferer the games to my internal HDD in PS3? I already have installed FileZilla Client.
Thanks in advance.

1. No you don't need to flash anything more. Unless the hermes v4 you flashed doesn't allow PSN access and you want it. Then you want to flash any .hex file from here: PSN / ONLINE on Jailbroken consoles with Pre-Complied Hex's! - PSX PS2 PS3 Scene Modchip & Jailbreak Community
2. Gaia Manager is a continuation off of moh's Open Manager. Both of these devs are now banding together to make Unified Manager. For now, Gaia is the newer of the 2.
3. In Gaia is a FTP server. Just have to turn it on with the option. Just FTP to the IP address shown in Gaia, port 21, no username or password.

I'm pretty sure it's in the Latest News or Homebrew jailbreak forums.

Gaia Manager v1.03.1
Gaia Manager v1.0 RC9
The last one is the newer? Or the first one?

Gaia 1.03.1 is the newest and the last version compiled. From here on out, it will be known as Unified Manager when it finally gets released.

You want to use the one that ends in GAMEZ. Put that on a thumb drive/ext HDD/whatever you have formated to hold files to plug into the PS3. Once it's on some device, plug it into the PS3 (in JB mode) and goto Install Packages. Select the package you put on your drive to install it. After that you'll have a Gaia Manager icon in your Game XMB menu

The thumb drive must be in fat32 format?
When you say, in JB mode, is when I have the X3max runing in my PS3?
After that, I need something installed in my computer to transferer the games to my internal HDD in PS3? Or I do that in the PS3?
Thanks again for helping me out.

Thumb drives are already in fat16 or fat32 format. Both should work for putting the package on. And, yes, when I say in JB mode, you want to be booted up with the x3max doing the power / eject button thing.
If you want to transfer games to your internal HDD from your computer, you can use the FTP server built into Gaia. Just turn it on and you'll see your IP address in the bottom left. From your computer, use a FTP client (filezilla, flashfxp, cuteftp, etc) to attach to that IP, no username or password, port 21. From there, you'll go into hdd0/games/LUAN or OMAN (you'll have to look for a folder that starts with one of these)/GAMEZ. That's where you want to transfer your games on the internal.
