Hi newbie here I have ps3 phat! on 3.41 flashed x3max with x3MAX Generic_V1.1.bin & Hermes_V4b_Hex. I can see the install and app_home/PS3_GAME/
folders but when I try to install states no install package found if I try going to gameapp folder i get error 80028f14 help please.

To install apps you need to have the pkg file on the root of a flash drive.. (Or any drive in the formatted to fat 32)

Simply move all the backed up games into a different folder.

For instance, if the gamez are in /hdd0/games/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/ you will use a file manager to move them to /hdd0/GAMEZ/ then remove the backup manager completely and when u re-install it, answer yes when it asks if u want to use /hdd0/GAMEZ/ you say yes.

It may ask if you want to use a diff folder first, simply say no until u see /hdd0/GAMEZ/ and after that, your backups will be safe from being deleted because they are no longer stored in the backup managers folder.

usually you get that error when you are not in Jailbreak mode.

Make sure you are in jailbreak mode and try again.

What manager are you using?

Hi there

Problem: I can not play in backup games:

X3 Max [Generic_V1.1.bin] with X3max hermes V4b psn pour 3.41.hex.
I have tried around 15 others hex but this does not help at all.

Gaia Manager 1.04
I put games in folder /dev_hdd0/GAMEZ/
When I press X Lauch Selected in Gaia, I go back to XMB.

When I go to */app_home_PS3_GAME/ I get: an error occurred during start operation 80028F14.

Is my X3 Max broken or I am doing something wrong ?
How can I check if I am in JB mode?

i doubt it because you were able to see the app and game folders. Erm My advice would be to check every game 1st to see if it is playable before backing up.. And also check if a ps3 game disk is needed.. Usually if a disk is needed it would just kick back to the xmb.. and error codes are the result of a ps3 in non jb mode..

Wow! I feel a fool , I thought all that was needed to jailbreak ps3 was in the payload didn't know I had to install files. Can I put files on the x3max or do I have to use another usb drive?

Thanks for help I was just going sell my x3max. All the x3max tutorial I found showed you how to program it, not how install files and pkg's or manager needed to fully jailbreak ps3 I got alot more reading to do!!!
