Will we ever see a PSN fix?
Will we ever see a PSN fix? –
Have people given up on a PSN fix? I haven't heard much talk about it and was just curious. I'm thinking of picking up a second PS3 just to use online.
That's what you should do if you don't want interrupted PSN access.
Hopefully CFW users will never get to use it again.
Hopefully CFW users will always have a way to get back on it.

A used PS3 is so dirt ass cheap these days. or grab an Xbox 360.
The simple answer is yes, there will be a workaround. It's already possible using the game servers themselves but is a dangerous practice at present in terms of banning. As soon as someone can be bothered to write a third party app that requires you to access these servers through an alternate version of PSN, it will be possible. However you will not get on the PSN store.

This will all take some time as it's a big project.... It is more likely someone else will restore normal PSN well before I'm finished, my project will likely be permanent where a bypass is not as you will not be accessing Sony servers at all through the cloud.
If anyone would like to help with my preformentioned project, I need the game server addresses from the eboots. The more the better, I no there is a program from another thread on here about playing the retail PSN from sp-int, the program searches the games EBOOT for these addresses but I obviously only have a handful of games that are my own. So please if you can get any of this information from your own retail backups it would make the project go a lot smoother. Thank you in advance....

This thread is just a flame war waiting to happen, with people giving their opinions on whether or not cfw users should be able to get on PSN (Chesh, your response definitely does not go down that road, though). I could go on about my opinion on that--I think it'd be great if we cfw users could at least just dual-boot cfw and ofw just so that we could use ofw only to play psn, thus eliminating the "cheaters" argument against us using psn. I don't know how feasible that is to do, though.
But the initial poster's question isn't about how I feel about PSN access for cfw users; the question is about if it will happen soon. I assumed when we got booted off a few weeks ago that a solution would be in the works, just because of the all the amazing work that guys are doing. I haven't heard anything on here to suggest we're really getting there or that people are really working on it. Maybe there has been progress or devs really are working on it, but I haven't heard too much. Maybe they just don't want to say anything right now. Using rebug seems to only work for a few games, and that sounds way too risky anyway. Even just a vague statement like, "hey, we're on it" (cue Marsellus Wallace to Jules in Pulp Fiction, for those who get the reference) would probably make a lot people sit easier. I don't feel I'm "owed" anything, and I'm not "whining." I'm just wondering, too.
EDIT: ARVI, you posted just before I did. That's the (great) kind of response I was just talking about. Thanks for your reply and your work
Im pretty sure someone (wanin I think)is working on a solution at the console level, meaning it may be as easy as install a .pkg eventually.
I just don't understand why people would say hopefully there won't be a fix. What is the reasoning for that? PSN is a free service so it's not like we are stealing from Sony. If anything, they are losing money by blocking people from PSN because most of us would continue buying items. Now that I can't get on with the CFW, I don't have the ability to purchase anything.
It's because of all the cheaters and the tens of thousands complaints sony got because of the cfw users cheating online. I for one would like psn back I never had cheated nor ever thought about it. Cheating is not fair or fun for anyone.
