Will restoring backup from 3.50 ps3 effect my other 3.41 ps3? –
Hey guys i wanna transfer some data from my ps3 3.50fw to my new ps3 3.41fw will the restore just restore content and settings or will up update my 3.41fw to the latest fw in order to do so...?
i dont wanna restore if its gonna update my ps3
hope you guys can help me out on this
thanks in advance
Im not 100% sure but if you are going to transfer data between the two it will ask you to update the firmware before the transfer begins. Not sure if it will let you continue if you don't.
I have the same question. I currently have two PS3, one for which the firmware was updated to 3.50 and holds my data. And the other that is currently "empty" (started only once, to verify the firmware version) and is running firmware 3.40. I backup'd the data of the first one (firmware 3.50) and I am wondering if I now restore the data to the second one (firmware 3.40) it would cause problems or even upgrade my PS3 without my consent (which I would like to avoid of course) as it says it will "restart" during the process.
Anyone could tell me if there will be such problems or other important things to know in the specific case please ?
Thanks in advance.
PS: Both PS3 are slim 160GB models.
Well.. I tired to do a restore... but it seems that my main profile contains only "protected" data so it did not restore it... It restored another profile I have which was empty (no save game or game data)... So this functionnality is pretty useless if you have protected savegames
I tired another thing, the "Data transfer utility", but this feature require to upgrade the firmware unfortunately, which I don't want to do. So, I'm left without any other solution right now to transfer my savegames from my PS3 with firmeware 3.50 to my PS3 with firmware 3.40... Anyone has an idea please ?
