Hello, I read in some posts that the PS3 can use unconfigurated internet connections to phone home... My PS3 is configured to access my home non-wireless network. When I cracked it I disconnected the internet cable and never once put it back in, neither did I try connecting to Playstation Network, neither was there ever a sign of connecting to PSN. I never got a warning that I had to update my console to 3.56, either. I can however if I want access the neighbours their unprotected wireless connection if I want to, but I never allowed my PS3 to do that, but neither did I change any settings that make it forbidden to try and access internet.

I'm not home right now, so will my PS3 be banned if I get back or not ?

No. And if you're so worried, change your PS3's DNS settings to 1.1.1.1. This will make it so the PS3 can only be accessed on your local network. BTW: There are at least 15 threads in the last 2 days about this. Please search. Thread closed.
