Wil Cobra ODE jailbreak almost all systems?
Wil Cobra ODE jailbreak almost all systems? –
Kind of, it will work on all systems available at the moment(no doubt future models will block it) but it's not the same as a jailbreak or CFW. All it does is load ISO's and fixed homebrew from a usb device as if they were disc's. The Cobra-ODE team have stated that you will not be able to install CFW with it.
I for One kinda doubt there will be YAPS3 Model to come. After all the PS4 is just 'round the corner.

And as long as someone finds a way to run Multiman as an .ISO, AND THEY LIKELY WILL!! Then you can then run what ever ya like of an external HDD like everyone else does now.
Yep most of what you said I agree with, like Multiman will definitely be ported but loading games(on un-hackable models) will only be like it is already with the Cobra-ODE manager and the functionality will be cut by alot because(so far) we don't have syscalls we can load, meaning no standard(CFW) backup loading and some homebrew which relies on those syscalls.

But, had the row of Dash Updates killing any chance of JTAG'ing, or RGH'ing it. Sure you can still burn your Games and play them. But you get none of the Homebrew / CFW. Speaking of those "Syscalls" I thought that they were known to the Cobra Team, and might be leaked to allow anyone anywhere to run unsigned Code as a Game ISO, simply by flagging that same Syscall.

In any case I'm glad I have the Slim. Which eats less power then the older Phats. The new Super Slim eats even less, but it can't be hacked. and the Slim dose have some PS2 & PSP Emulation on-board. I wonder if it holds true for the Super Slim's too, and if the Cobra can find a way to use that too?
No it isn't released yet but it shouldn't be far off, they keep pushing it back but they say it's for improvements. You can run backups and homebrew in an ISO on an external usb but you have to restart the ps3 every time you want to change what is loaded.
I'm pretty sure that when it's released and certain dev's get a hold of it we'll get more out of it but we'll have to wait and see.
I wouldn't count on this device to be PSN safe. I know ODEs on the XBox have so far been Live safe, but to me it seems trivial to check the load times to figure out if the game is running from the hard drive or optical discs. Who knows? Maybe the drive emulation is that good.
Ok perhaps not fully safe... But, surly safer then just your plain Vanilla flavored CFW then...
