why backups arent fullscreen, help please

Im on 80gig fat, 47" 1080p tv. Im new to all this and havent posted a thing about how all this is done. I dont post without trying to find the answer myself, but cant find anything on this. My backups arent playing in fullscreen. What am i missing. is there something i need to do? any help world be great. thanks.

Do your originals play in full screen? Make sure your video settings are set to the max resolution that your TV supports.

yeah my retail disc play fine. once they are backed up they wont go into full screen. games run perfect, but not fullscreen. and then when i exit the game from the hdd and load retail disc its fine again.
