Where does the PS3 store video files?
Where does the PS3 store video files? –

I have a movie I want to transfer to my PS3 (.mpg format), but I can't do it via an external drive because the file is 12GB and therefore too large for a FAT32 drive. I'd like to be able to just FTP it over to the internal HDD, but I'm not sure which folder to put it in so that the PS3 recognizes it.

The PS3 won't recognize it in any folder. The PS3 treats video/music files much like the original iPods did. When you put a file onto an iPod it was given a randomly generated name and then an .xml file would be associated with it with the necessary information about the file. The PS3 does the same thing. My best suggestion to you is to just create a folder for your movies on the internal HDD and use MultiMan to load them.
