i ask b/c the content folder of the game i updated still has it's param.sfo as 4.21 even though the update says 4.25 (in the name of the pkg). Therefore, i feel like the content on my external is not being updated. can someone confirm where the update is applied as the param should change right? when i open it up it still says 4.21 and version 1. is there any config i need to change in multiman to enable the game to actually update?

pretty sure game updates don't change your files.
From XMB goto Game -> Game Data Utility and look for the installed patch. It will be there. This means you can delete patches for games as well if you don't need it.

Thanks. I def noticed the updates in the game data utility but i thought they would impact the games files too no? isn't that why we're changing param.sfos? when people say change it from 4.25 to 4.21 i thought that's b/c the game update changed the sfo to 4.25....?

Your PS3 thinks you back ups on you internal is a Blu-ray disc. When a game updates, do you think it will try to write to the read only Blu-ray disk? No, so why would it now?

that's a good point. I guess when people say their modifying the param it's to match the update required by the fw so they would be increasing the FW number on the param not decrease right? that would be true if nothing on the disc itself was being update unless there is a way to ftp into the actual update itself and change those files? is that possble? Go into whereever on the hd updates are loaded and change something there?

Probably, but why? Is a game not working? What are you trying to accomplish?

I'm on a mission trying to fix my US version of NHL 13. The 1.03 update caused it to stop working. I did the resign of eboot, changed param but for some reason the 4.25 version I changed it to goes back to an earlier version when i go back into the ftp.
