I can understand it's hard to have a system for playing games that can't play any of the new games, because you can't update or even play online.
Lot of people may like emus and homebrew stuf but that can't be a reason for most of you to buy a $$$ system for?
Why bother with ps2 games on ps3 if you can buy a ps2 for a littel$ to nothing
Main reason to buy your ps3 is to play gt5, black ops and so on and so on.
So if you can't wait, update and get your main function of your suburb gamingsystem back.
Ask your self if you want to wait? you can try to do the hacking and cracking your self or just wait and press f5 till we are a few months further.
When you guys leave the scene?

Never. I've been into console hacking since PSP was first hacked in 2005. I'm never leaving. EVER!

I've been in this game since 1991...
Some of you might even remember console copiers, SuperNes Copier / Game Doctor 7, that was great
So you thinking that people will quit just because they can't play game? Homebrews is the way to go!

its a simple answer for a simple question.. I'm going to say that most people WONT leave the scene.. because we could benefit from this at anytime.. Good things come to those that wait

I will never leave either. Ive owned a ps3 for years and only bought my first game when the JB started. I bought the PS3 for Blu Ray Playback and other dlna media use, not for games and psn. Although it does get a small amount of game time now.

Never i have an xbox so i usually play the multiplatform games on live i.e black ops which is terrible playing online on ps3. I'll keep the ps3 for the exclusives which are awesome and i think the firmware will be hacked eventually even if sony update and were always 1 step behind i doubt this is the end as most people laughed at the fact the ps3 could be jailbroken in the 1st place and look where we are.

I ain't goin anywhere!! Love modding anything that I can (bikes, boats, cars) and don't plan stopping anytime soon!

When you see some stuff that hacking/modding brings to the table (open source Kinect for example), it really does achieve so much from the average Joe Soap sitting at home.. It's people power at it's finest! Look what pressure we can apply to huge corporations like Sony or MS from a group of people sharing their work/ideas.

It really breaks my heart whenever I see someone update older (hackable) machines, it's like watching that video of puppies getting thrown into a river, they're never coming back!

I'm one of those people that has more fun pulling a brand new system apart, rather than vegging for hours infront of the TV. Don't get me wrong though, I still love gaming, but I've spent way more hours modding consoles than playing them.

I will always be interested in this sort of underground movement of how the normal folk hack consoles and get things working on them, that are not supposed to.

Not really interested in games as such, just like all the innovations that you people bring to our consoles.

I will always as far as i am concerned be interested in this stuff.

You're referring to a 4 month long scene that probably accomplish more than a few 2 year old scenes on different platforms. If not more, then close to it. I can't imagine what the scene would like when it's reached one full year. Like what ken_oh said, good things come to those who wait, and I have had my PS3 since initial launch. I remember when a friend of mine would brag about his jtag 360, and mentioned that the jailbreak PS3 will never happen. The punchline buildup took a while, but the jokes on him.
