When is it necessary to have a USB drive plugged in when running certain apps (ReactPSN,etc)? –
I've read recently that there are certain functions, apps etc where you need to have a USB drive plugged into the right USB slot. i believe maybe one of the new PS2 apps requires this too or at least at certain times. Perhaps when online/in PSX store or updating games? When exactly is it necessary to have a USB drive plugged in an why?
Running Rebug 4.30.2 on Slim 250.
It's used for tools like ReActPSN to make it easier when dealing with files. If you don't like it for whatever reason you can decrypt the eboot and look for the dev_usb00/ line and change it to dev_hdd0/ and point it to a folder you'd prefer to use. Then just resign and you won't need the USB drive anymroe, but you'll have to ftp/copy the files before using the app
Is ReactPSN something that runs in the background or would I just need to worry about it when I'm actually using it? It seems like ReactPSN is just sort of a one-time use while setting up Rebug, PS2 Manager/Placeholder sort of thing.
ReactPSN, it's for resigning PSN to work in your console (DLC, PSN Games)
So since I use online a fair amount do I have to keep a usb drive plugged in for things to work properly?
