Whats needed for cfw

As the title says, what exactly is needed in order to make a cfw?
And how involved is it to acquired said items, just trying to understand a little more and see where things stand with a jailbreak for 3.56

Any Launch PS3 < or = 3.55, any Slim PS3 that didn't come preinstalled with 3.55. < or = 3.55.

Now, it doesn't take much effort to get CFW. Just put the cfw pup on your flash drive and go.

Yes what's needed to actually create the cfw, I know how to install it on my systems.
I just wanna know what makes the cfw

for 3.56 CFW what will be needed is the KEYS!!

Well I have seen all the keys but the private ones I guess, so once we get these we can jailbreak it? Can we make a downgrade with what we have now? I know there is a thread saying there isn't a downgrade Im just curious to see why's needed for that at least, I not the same thing for cfw
