I am just curious if anyone can break it down for me what it will mean for those of us wanting to play new games that require 3.60 on old CFW's? I understand that 3.60 is supposedly secure according to Kakaroto's tweet that somebody posted.

Does this mean that backups will not be do-able on games that require 3.60 now(for the time being)?

    Or

will the games still work with modified eboots / param.sfo's?

    Any help is appreciated...

its the same as we have been doing, unless they implement a feature that every game will have to use in the future that is not present on 3.55.
Imagine that the new cloud gaming or whatever is called, would be required for all games from now on, and the game wouldn't boot without it, that would mean that not even modifying eboots or param.sfo's would work.

no it's not the same. We don't have 3.60 app keys so we cant decrypt any 3.60 games.

atm : playing new games is finished as soon, as the first 3.60 game is out.

but within the next 4-6 weeks every game will use 3.56 (meaning : crysis 2 too), and beetween april and october there are nearly no major releases...

Wrong! you don't need decryption keys! nor signed shit you just need to edit the eboot, and sign it with our own keys for our own 3.55, so it will work! how do you think we can play Dragon age that requires 3.56?

Sorry... but what? If a game is signed with 3.60 keys we need 3.60 keys to decrypt it, edit and resign for 3.55. We don't have those, and we don't know if we're ever going to get them.
    That's the problem.

Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.

Oh i see what you mean, but you guys are mixing decryption keys with signing keys they are not the same, we can decrypt the eboots to selfs and mod them, even with new 3.60 i bet, we did it on 3.56, dragon age requires 3.56 and there is an eboot fix both for 3.55 and 3.41, so i guess the same keys will be found like those for 3.56 were.
I think its this you guys are referring too

Isn't the difference that, while we do have the ... appldr(?) keys for 3.56, we don't have them for 3.60?

so i guess the same keys will be found like those for 3.56 were.
i suppose that's the part sony kind of fixed with 3.60

well what i understand is that they fixed the bootchain integrity that was completely compromised, but hey i didn't even have a look at 3.60 firmware, so i might be wrong , and they might have fixed other stuff.
