I have two ps3 consoles (a 60gigs phat and a 250gigs slim) and I want to JB my old console (the 60GB). Can I use Ps3 Server for streaming movies/music without accessing/sending any data to the Sony Servers? If I can please tell me how.

1.) Give your PS3 a static IP address on the local network
2.) Assuming you have one, Use your router firewall to block all ports in/out to that IP
This will block your PS3 from the internet completely but it will still be able to communicate with any devices on your local network.
There's no way to just block the data being sent to sony this way. If you just block the default port the process that sends the data will just keep incrementing the port number until it gets through.
The other method is to use OpenDNS to blacklist the sony server, there's a tutorial on this somewhere use the search function.
Thanks. I'll try with the OpenDNS![]()
Jesus lmao all you have to do is change the dns server ip addess to something like 6.6.6.6 etc and this will stop you ps3 accessing the Internet but allow it to communicate "within" your network problem sorted.
