what is the diff between [latest 3.70 downgrade using proskeet] and [fast-swap hdd with progskeet]?

i've been looking at these two tutorial on the front page of psx scene
'UPDATE FOUR: 3.70 Downgrade for Fat/Slim NOR Models - Teensy++ OR ProgSkeet -'
and
'TUTORIAL - 'FAST-SWAP' Between v3.55 CFW and v3.70 OFW with ProgSkeet and Two HDDs'

correct me if im wrong,

1)is the fast swap tutorial an extension of the downgrade tutorial?
2)why does the fastswap tutorial requires a 3.55 usb downgrade dongle, while the downgrade tutorial never mentioned about one? what dongle is it referring to? cobra?
3)with reference to the fastswap tutorial, can any hard disk work? must the two hdd be of same capacity?

It requires the dongle to downgrade to 3.55 firmware like any regular method that was previously used by 3.55 to downgrade to 3.41 firmware. Any hard disk should work. The fast swap merely allows users to quickly swap between firmwares. 3.55 and 3.70.

are u saying, to downgrade from 3.7 to 3.55, I need the progskeet, AND a dongle?

Take a look at the video that was posted by DigitalAngel in it he uses both the progskeet device as well as the dongle. I am fairly new to this downgrade method, but I am trying to help you out to the best of my ability and understanding of this process.

oh, i only just noticed they mentioned the usb stick deep in the article
'turn on the console with the usbstick with these two files in the right usb port (in the last) '

may i know what exactly is this usb stick/dongle? can it be DIY-ed or must it be purchased?

For all you know it might be the original PS Jailbreak device or any downgrade dongle, like X3MAX, P3GO GT, E3Card Reader, stuff like that. Again I am not entirely sure about this. Read up some more. Or look at a video, it may help you. For all you know it may give you the answers you are looking for.

are you saying what is the uses of usb stick ? if yes then its a normal usb not any dongle .

it need for LV2Diag and CFW 3.55 or any CFW you are gunna use .that why you need a usb drive

from what i found out, the purpose of the usb dongle (ps3key) is just to make the system enter factory/service mode?
is there any other way that is free to make it to into factory service mode?
