i have jailbroken my ps3 succesfully on a 60 gig fat that wont read discs. Im now trying to play backups, but you need to have a disc inside the ps3 for that to work.
First off, i would just want to know why this is true, because to me it doesn't make sense.

Anyways, onto my next point, is there any way to (or any way to make a homebrew app that could) trick the ps3 into thinking there was a disc inside? if so this would solve mine/alot of other peoples problems.
Another question is, as of now, what games work without a disc in (i know that some do but is there like a list of what exactly will work) Similar to this point, do you think that in the future more and/or all games will be able to work without a disc inside?

There is always me fixing my drive or blue ray lens or whatever is wrong with it, if so do any of you know of a good tutorial I can follow? And lastly, would you just suggest I buy a brand new ps3 that would work properly?
