What am I doing wrong? FIFA and NHL - not working: TrueAncestor EBOOT Resigner v1.4

I run the game updates, which work fine so the games have the latest patches. Then I put the eboots from the game folders (after the patch) into the folder for the TrueAncestor EBOOT Resigner v1.4 program and I run it. It works and I get an updated eboot, which I replace the current eboot with via ftp program. I go to load the game via multiman and it doesn't work.

I am trying to play these games with their latest updates. Any suggestions? I'm on debug 4.21 and these are my own backups so I know it's not the games.

Did you try to run the games without patching the updates because you shouldn't have to.

yes and it gives me an error which is why I did the patching via this program to begin with.....

Thanks for the help. It was an error code. As for 4.21.1 - yes - it's 4.21.1. Games are running off external btw. Not sure if that would make a difference putting them on Internal. My thought of how this works is I rip my original game, update it via MM or Sony, then play on 4.21.1. Since that didn't work, I tried that program to resign the eboot after it was updated with the latest patch, replace it with the new signed version and play via MM. No luck....
