WD 750gb and ps3
is this drive compatible with the ps3?
WD Scorpio Blue WD7500BPVT - hard drive - 750 GB - SATA-300
heard some people say that BPVT models and not BEVT do not work right, is it true?
i mean will it work ok for backups as i'm sure videos and saves will work fine.
would it be safer to go for a model like:
Samsung M7 HM641JI 640GB
Western Digital Scorpio Blue 640GB?
-
i got the 640gb bevt model and it works great..no stuttering at all
-
any idea if there is a fix for the WD7500BPVT to fix the stuttering?
apparently if you run this WD tool http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=719673
it fixes it? can anyone confirm?

I have a 750GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue in my 60GB Backwards Compatible PAL PS3 and as of now I didn't notice any stuttering on any of my games.
Can you mention any games that should have stuttering with this HDD?
-
i mean when loading full ps3 games from the hdd, apparently there is stuttering from cutscenes and general poor performance.
did you change any settings with the WD tools on the hdd/or jumpers?
-
Nope I didn't do anything. I bought the HDD and immediately put this in my PS3, formatted and copied all the games.
I tested this right now with Ratchet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet, Katamari Forever and Tron: Evolution. No stuttering ingame or at cutscenes.
